i am eating manchego cheese. it reminds me of Spain even though it's really crap manchego cheese. It's the only time i've ever seen it here at all. Still pretty damned good.
cold like not-Spain in Dawson City tonight. decidedly not-Spain. Decidedly freezing at night and meant to snow on Sunday. I am not a believer, but i am not a non-believer either.
imagine if i just didn't believe in weather?
imagine.
i do not want to believe that it is so very very hot in Saskatchewan still. Makes me feel like that thumbs up i got from god in 2005 really meant nothing at all.
where's my 30 degrees in September?
where's my First Nations Summer, god?
Where?
Whatever. When it starts to be below zero every day then i can start to acquire frozen goods again. Not having a freezer is somewhat inconvenient for items like frozen green beans.
i rely on green beans heavily.
like second only to my cat. i just de-wormed that cat. more than i'd do for the beans-- do you see what i'm saying?
As you may know if you know me, i don't like to do things i'm not good at/don't know how to do, so it has taken me an excessive length of time to create a rapidshare mixtape for a contest. The mix itself was quick to assemble, but i had a profound fear about my potential failure in the uploading process. It turns out that it is so easy that a monkey could do it. Even a retarded monkey probably. If i could teach my cat to do it, i really wouldn't need anything else in the world because we would start a mixtape blog where i made the lists and Geddy zipped and uploaded the files. It would be called Cats: The Musical. Everyone would love it. Andrew Lloyd Webber would sue me. Good times.
Until then, however, perhaps i will just continue to make the zips and upload them myself.
This is my first one.
It's a mix tape featuring songs about buildings and food for a Conceptual Mixtape Battle created by my friend Mark over here at Markcomix.
My entry is plus de late, so it may not be in consideration for the elusive "win" anymore, but it's still a nice interaction of songs that really are all about buildings and/or food in some way. I though about lying and tossing a few in there that weren't just cos they would've sounded good in the mix, but i didn't.
Is it possible that after 27 years i may be developing morals?
Doubts it, Ralph.

you scalded my pet moth by accident
there is nothing quite like listening to a mixed cd called 'art mix: for appreciating, making or critiquing art." while doing art.
how did it get so "good"?
has anyone ever tried/successfully played an intranet version of truth or dare?
i think that would be fun.
when i get good at making websites (sometime between soon and never)i will make a website of that on the intranet and become the famous humorist i am destined to be.
what is the deal with that show "n3mbers"? {sidebar: i hate numbers replacing letters. it is dumb. yes, i am talking to all of you too, s7ven and l4yer cake. unless you are a lol cat or on a halo forum, don't bother.} are they supposed to be a-rab or jewish or latino or like dark slavic or what? ethnicity fail.
to be fair i've never watched a whole episode. i'm sure they get into it at some point.
i keep meaning to-- it has that dr. fleicshman from "northern exposure" in it. i freaking love "northern exposure". "this is why i live here?"
exactly.
i am having a poor go of taking photos lately. i don't know what the story is. it's like the spirit of jazz came and scooped up my mojo. just wearin' me like a glove.
anyway, my pictures suck.
plus i can't figure out what i did last summer to make it like slide film...
i welcome your feedback.
it is awesome to make telephone survey deliverers laugh.
really helps spice up the whole conversation.
i get bored.
kitty-cats look like they are smiling a lot.
except for those ones without hair. they are always frowning.
because they are scary gargoyle cats and i would be sad about being that ugly too.
i think it would feel like petting an elderly person. gross.
in conclusion,
shut up about brooklyn.

spatial awareness and other set backs

bananas have gotten cool lately. maybe this is just in the yukon. more likely this has been the case in the rest of the nation for some time and it is only now catching on here. sweet sweet northern bloc. you giveth and you taketh away. mostly taketh. lousy bloc. to get to my original point though i feel as though these socio-culturally aware stickers, some of which even feature jokes, are the banana growers attempting to distract us from the danger of banana extinction:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/2664373.stm
i am not distracted, banana people. i might have laughed at your LOL bananas and subsequently purchased them, but i've got my eye on you.
if bananas go extinct, i will just have to eat even more monte cristo sandwiches. even more than i already do. is that even possible? get back to me when bananas are extinct and i will let you know.
I spent a very long while preparing my second radio show of the week, which took place earlier this day. it was not even slightly thematically unified, but i did manage to play tusk by fleetwood mac, which is pretty important i feel. i also discussed gay marriage in relation to utah and the sundance film festival and finished with "i can't believe you actually died" by the microphones. i thought it was one of my better productions, exceptttttt i have a really difficult time talking comfortably on the air when there are people in the station though. i guess maybe that will never go away. lots of people today. ruining my flow. cock-blocking my steez. etc. i would like to adopt the role of a gritty reporter so people are scared to come when i'm there. this is the most natural and best solution by far. by far.
In other avoiding working related "news" i have been trying to take a picture of molly's cat two-face (or toof as i like to call her) in order to complete a portrait for molly's christmas present (she already knows about it, so relax). this picture is by no means successful for my drawing, but it does make toof look like a real lady/ghost cat.

the benefit to this weird cloudy winter is that clouds do good things with the sun and the mountains, and that makes the sun going away almost worthwhile. almost not quite.

i have so many things to do that i can't do any of them. i just want to make buttons all the time.

buttons and monte cristos. why i can't i just make that?

to my kitty-cat
an open letter to geddy lee:
as proud as i am that you enjoy fine french soft cheeses as much as i do, stop eating my fine french soft cheeses when i am not looking. that shit is expensive, and you lick your butt and feet.

you a sleuth everywhere.

hang for your hollow ways
i fear we are nearing the end of what had been a rather pleasant... Oh lets call it a Chana Masala Summer for the sake of "political" "correctness". Because obviously that matters...Just ask Stephen Harper- he's sweet and colourful.
At any rate, it is raining again. I personally think it is LOTR fantastic, what with the colour and the mist, but it means the sun can start to sneak away without me noticing. Damned it.
The rain does mean my meow cat is inside more...though it may have less to do with the rain and more to do with the Westmark Hotel being boarded up for the season. Gotta love seasonal businesses.

I know right? Reeeeaaalllly nice.
My cat seems to like it though. Right this very moment she is mostly liking Wilbur though.
I will miss him when him and Quinn move away. Good roomie team. I will miss the dog-power of knowing when people are coming to the door. Dogs have a keen interest in stuff and things. Cats only care about one guy, and that's cats.
Fair enough. I care mostly only about one guy (jen).
It is so dark in my house now. I have never really seen my house dark. It's alright.

Fall means dark but also canning.
Jenna and i canned the night away yesterday:

carrots.

tomatoes.

beets.

i guess i should've taken some pictures of the actual canning process; probably would've been more action-packed.
Packed!
Ha!
Anyways, I used my great-grandma's pickled carrot recipe and that is pretty neat.
I hope it tastes the same.
And yes, i am wearing a Beaver Canoe bunnyhug. Thank-you, i like it too.
{more about Beaver Canoe and conspiracies later}
You guys ever listen to Depeche Mode?
I am on about year 11 of listening to Depeche Mode and i am not ready to give it up.
I entirely forgot until some rai-searching tonight how comical looking DM "sex" "symbol" Dave Gahan (or Sausage Stump, as teenage me called him) and the rest of the gang really were:

Still, i probably would've done it with Martin Gore when i was 16.
Yep.
That's too bad. For me.
I mean who's from Essex?
something is weird with my camera lens since its return from the teens.
argh.
blargh.
okay lesson plan.
